In these instances your email address must be authenticated. Peek·into·the·Past strives to prevent story entries from claiming a false identity. The authentication process includes mailing a code to the StoryTeller and receiving a valid response.
Follow this link now to create your StoryTeller Profile Record: Initiate Email Address Authentication. Later in these cases, your identity will be matched to the documents you supply in this story submission process.
If a memorial exists, use the name as it appears. Otherwise, how do you describe the Subject's name?
Such a photo might not be possible, say, due to weather-related decay. Even in that instance, a photo of the memorial enhances the story.
This address may be a street address or a Global Positioning System (GPS) address. Other supplemental identifying details, such as the cemetery name, are encouraged. If the Augmented Reality Experience is to be used, you will attach or display a QR Code Tile next to the memorial so visitors can scan it to take them to this published Story. An alternative for the address is a site map/diagram. In that case, could you state in the address field that a site map is being provided and upload the file below?
Identify nearby roads if providing a site map/diagram of the memorial's location.
Provide at least one of these genealogic relationship display options. The subject must be among those included in the display. If the StoryTeller's relationship with the subject is not shown, the StoryTeller will be identified as "Unassociated to subject". There is no required minimum of inter-relationships.
A "Relationship" chart presents a graphical display of the subject's relationship to another including the relationship of each person in between; a "Pedigree" chart displays the Subject's direct line ancestors; and a "Descendant" chart displays an individual's descendants with the subject at the top and the descendants below. If you choose to display a genealogic "chart", upload it here.
If choosing to display a genealogic "chart", upload it here.
A Digital Record can be an excellent choice for enriching the Story. A link to that genealogical record will appear within the Story's Kinship tab.
Provide its address.
Year present, City, State, Country (GPS address is optional though produces a higher quality map illustration. Individual's name is also optional.)
As the StoryTeller, the opportunities to enhance your entry are almost boundless. Strive for high production quality and concise content. Video, audio, and still-image complimenting the story may be uploaded here. Please give recognition to the parties who created the recording. All voices and faces must be identified with first and last names. If you require professional services, Peek·into·the·Past offers narrating, editing, and video and audio production.
Identification of nearby relatives' burial sites is encouraged. This image would allow a visitor at the site to locate the subject's relatives memorialized nearby.
The narrative is a terrific way to pull story components together, making them easily relatable. You may include your own insights and reflections to add depth to the Story. Below are two ways to provide a narrative - write it in the text field or prepare it as a separate document and upload the file.
A distinct section of the Story format is "Tidbits" for notes, trivia, defining moments or anything else that doesn’t quite fit into the main narrative but would be of interest to visitors. Visitors can also post their comments, and these will be posted within the Tidbits section.
Please separate and identify the Story narrative from Tidbits.
If more than one relates, follow the "Visitor Portal" link to let us know the others.
Provide its address; a link to that genealogical record will appear within the Story's Kinship tab.

You have chosen the Basic Plan subscription. Basic Plan subscribers can explore, for 30 days after publishing a new story, the rich experience of Peek·into·the·Past.com without obligation. After then, an invoice for the monthly fee, currently $2, billed annually and subject to change, is due. You may cancel your subscription anytime by requesting the Story be identified as "Inactive." (Follow the "Request" link within the Administrative Actions section of the StoryTeller Portal.) Likewise, a request to "hide the Story" (see the same Administrative Actions section) will cancel the subscription and remove the Story from public view. The Story remains published unless elected to be hidden.
Available to "active" status StoryTellers and free of charge: give yourself & others 1-Year Basic Plan subscriptions eligible for activation upon publication of additional stories to the collection. We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to give others a 1-year subscription; tell us their names and emails via the "Communication" link in Administrative Actions of the StoryTeller Portal.
Have you been given a 1-Year Basic Plan subscription? If so, you received a letter detailing the process of redeeming its value. In that letter is the $0.00-Subscription gift redemption code. You can enter it, your name, and your email address here.
Before invoicing, the Invoice Total will be reduced by the unredeemed value of your E-Gift Card. To the extent the unredeemed value exceeds the Total, you will be issued a replacement E-Gift card with the original expiration date.
If you previously published a story and have since change your name, please state your name as it appears on your Profile Record.
If you have ever published a story, you have been assigned an Identification Passcode. If your name has not changed, you will continue to use that assigned passcode.
If you ever have been a StoryTeller and are now reporting a change to your name, you will be asked to provide the customary identification required of all new StoryTellers.
Name changes are reported using the form: Designate the Succeeding StoryTeller. After submitting the Story, you will be redirected to that form. Please, complete and submit that form, too.
Your street address change is reported there as well.
This address must correspond to that of your profile record.
DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE WITH ANYONE ELSE. The identification Passcode serves to authenticate you as the story's active StoryTeller and to confirm your permission for story and profile modifications you initiate occasionally. Peek·into·the·Past furnished yours when you published a story (or restored one from “inactive” status).
"VERIFIED" will appear if details in the fields "Email Address of record" and "Your identification passcode" match your Profile Record.

Peek·into·the·Past strives to ensure Visitors can contact the StoryTeller. The Administrator will relay all Visitor communication directed to the StoryTeller; Administrator will neither reveal the StoryTeller's nor a Visitor's email address. A USPS letter requesting acknowledgment of ownership of the provided email address will be mailed to the StoryTeller. Once we receive validation, the address will be activated within your profile.
When submitting the story components, a field named State Identification allows for an image file of the redacted ID to be uploaded. This is an example of what we ask to be provided (self-image is optional):
ONLY the name will be published. The address will NOT be published or otherwise shared! The copy must show the validation date and official State identification markings.
The address is used solely to send your Identification Passcode via the US Post Office. The Identification Passcode serves to authenticate you as the story's active StoryTeller and to confirm your permission for story and profile modifications you initiate occasionally. DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE WITH ANYONE.
Your name, as StoryTeller, will be published within the Story.
You may publish your choice of a self-image; it just must resemble that image on your State identification.
If you foresee a problem meeting this requirement, first, save your work. Then, before submitting this story, use the Visitor Portal to open a discussion for a resolution.
CAUTION -
Your name as submitted must exactly agree with that on the ID document. Also, if it is not current, the State identification markings are absent, or your street address does not appear, there will be a delay in preparing a draft story to cure these issues.
If you foresee a problem meeting these requirements, please use the Visitor Portal before submitting this story to open a discussion for a resolution.

Follow the link "Designate" within the Administrative Actions of the StoryTeller Portal.
Upon submitting this form, you will be directed to the form "Designate the Succeeding StoryTeller," where your name change can be reported. If you have previously chosen to publish your photo, it will continue to be published aside from the name change. Following the Modify link within the Administrative Actions section of the StoryTeller Portal, changes to that election are made.
You will receive a record of the filing details and an invoice for any fee due. Please be careful in completing this form. If there is a misstatement, notify Peek·into·the·Past immediately; a credit to your account could be issued, and you will be asked to re-submit the filing with corrected details.
Upon submission, you will be provided a copy of these details for your records.
