Step 1 of 2
When submitting the story components, a field named State Identification allows for an image file of the redacted ID to be uploaded. This is an example of what we ask to be provided (self-image is optional):
ONLY the name will be published. The address will NOT be published or otherwise shared! The copy must show the validation date and official State identification markings.
The address is used solely to send your Identification Passcode via the US Post Office. The Identification Passcode serves to authenticate you as the story’s active StoryTeller and to confirm your permission for story and profile modifications you initiate occasionally. DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE WITH ANYONE.
Your name, as StoryTeller, will be published within the Story.
You may publish your choice of a self-image; it just must resemble that image on your State identification.
To get a jump on the story publishing process, we proceed under the assumption the details provided here match your State Identification submitted later along with the story details. This allows us to initiate your email address authentication.
Your name, as submitted below, must exactly agree with that on the ID document. Also, if it is not current, the State identification markings are absent, or your street address does not appear, there will be a delay in preparing a draft story to cure these issues.
If you foresee a problem meeting this requirement, before submitting a story, use the Visitor Portal to open a discussion for a resolution.
You will use that passcode to publish a new story. Would you happen to need a replacement Identification Passcode? Do you not recall the passcode or have reason to believe its identity has been compromised?
The name must exactly agree with that appearing on your State identification. As StoryTeller, this is how your name will appear within the story.
This address will become your Profile email address after we complete its authentication with you.
The address must exactly agree with that appearing on the redacted copy of your State identification to be submitted along with the story components.
DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE WITH ANYONE ELSE. The Identification Passcode serves to authenticate you as the story’s active StoryTeller and to confirm your permission for story and profile modifications you initiate occasionally. Peek·into·the·Past furnished yours when you published a story (or restored one from “inactive” status).
“VERIFIED” will appear if details in the fields “Your Name” and “Identification passcode” match your Profile Record.
